Small Wineries of the Willamette Valley Tour — $125*
10 a.m. Daily
Delve into the world-class Pinot Noir of the Willamette Valley and discover some of its lesser-known varieties as well in this tour meant to explore wineries whose names you may not have heard before — but you won’t forget.
Our approach with the Small Wineries tour is not just to introduce you to wineries that tell the story of the Willamette Valley — its history, its geology, its wine varieties and its unusual variety and depth of terroir, its people — but also to provide an experience that’s tailored to you and your group. We’ll make adjustments to the day’s itinerary depending on what you and your travel companions* enjoy and find intriguing. Many private wine tours providecustomization, but our Small Wineries tour guides are responsive, ready to shift appointments as we move through the wine tasting experience.
On our tour, we’ll take you to four wineries with smaller case production but very big stories, views and flavors. Expect a deep and broad exploration of the terroir, history, and geology of the Willamette Valley and the surrounding regions that influence its wines. On many days, this includes conversations with the winemakers themselves, and always includes personal interactions with the scientists and wine experts who have been working in the Willamette Valley for decades.
Tasting fees are not included; we will stop for lunch during the day. Depending on your day and group, this could include a stop in one of the small wine towns in the Willamette Valley or lunch at a winery. Vegetarian and gluten-free lunch options are always available.
Our tour will get you back to Portland in time for dinner — usually between 4:30 and 6. Pickup in or near downtown Portland included; our pickup list includes most downtown Portland hotels and inner Portland AirBNBs. If you’re staying a little out of the downtown area, just contact us and we’ll provide a convenient meeting point.
Transportation is in one of our Mercedes Sprinter vans, or for smaller groups, a comfortable partner vehicle.
*For large groups in our busy season, on weekends from April to October, variability is limited during the tour experience, so please call ahead if there are specific wineries you’d like to visit.
